Charlotte Spencer, like most Muggles, was completely unaware another world existed alongside the one she knew. This changed at the age of eight, when her brother, Elliott, received a letter from Hogwarts. Following this, she learned all she could of the Wizarding World from her brother's text books, which she would read from cover to cover. She now has the theoretical knowledge of this world, if not the experiential knowledge.
Her husband, Gideon Prewett, was an Unspeakable and owned his family’s publishing company, Obscurus Books. He was a member of the Order of the Phoenix and, along with his brother Fabian, an Auror, was recently murdered by Death Eaters. They have a young son, William, who is apparently magic. Charlotte's brother, also an Auror at the Ministry, was killed by Death Eaters three years prior.
Charlotte is a doctor of psychology and runs her own practice. She sees Muggles; though, due to her familiarity with and connections in the Wizarding World, she has also seen the occasional Wizard or Witch. She also assists the Ministry of Magic as a Muggle consultant as needed.
Charlotte is caught between the two worlds, Muggle and Wizarding. She is a Muggle and lives a Muggle life. And yet the Wizarding World is a culture she understands and feels a deep loyalty to due to her husband and brother, her friendships, and her son. Still, she herself can never truly be a part of it. She will always be an outsider looking in at those she cares for.
